We love ‘rocks and cows’.
The rural citizens of Minnesota who stake many of our 464,946 small businesses and annually produce our $17 billion in agricultural products and 40 million tons of iron ore.
How did they get that moniker?
As political demographics have changed and the Democratic Party “has become a more urban party” – highlighted by Governor Tim Walz in a October 30th, 2017 presentation – rural citizens living in the growing red areas labeled as “mostly rocks and cows” were left to wonder: “where is the person speaking for them?”.
In truth, there are ‘rocks and cows’ wondering the same thing all across America.
We all want the freedom to uphold a constitutional republic that supports our belief in the American dream: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Information is how we understand the world around us.
Discussion is how we effect a change in it.
Without vital information, we cannot discern real truth – real solutions – found amongst a variety of voices in thoughtful conversation.
We offer non-partisan news, articles, and editorials for the independent thinkers of Northeastern MN and beyond who love our Constitutional republic and want to be the informed body of citizens who safeguard it.
Our liberty depends on the freedom of the press, and that cannot be limited without being lost.
Thomas Jefferson
Knowledge will forever govern ignorance; and a people who mean to be their own governors must arm themselves with the power which knowledge gives.
James Madison
The people must know before they can act, and there is no educator to compare with the press.
